GENERAL FUNCTION:

Fifth Third Bancorp is seeking a Compliance Officer I responsible for the oversight and execution of compliance testing activities of the Trust compliance programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Develop test plan/scope for all Trust reviews to evaluate key risks identified in the compliance risk assessment
•Perform compliance testing of Trust programs; identification and evaluation of compliance risks and the execution of procedures to evaluate the Bancorp's compliance with laws, regulations and industry standards 
•Conduct extensive research to support regulatory findings/control weaknesses and document conclusions
•Provide reporting and actively engage senior LOB leadership to communicate the results of testing and any instances of non-compliance 
•Collaborate with Compliance Partners and line of business (LOB) management in developing corrective action plans; review and approve adequacy of LOBs resolution 
•Serve as subject matter expert for Trust related testing
•Assist Compliance line of business partners with periodic regulatory reports, reports to senior management, and the Trust annual report as it relates to testing

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•Minimum of 5 years proven and progressive experience in banking businesses, trust business, and/or regulatory reform.
•Understanding of Fiduciary Regulations, ERISA regulations and requirements, including industry best practices and products a preference not a requirement
•Ability to think intuitively and strategically so that the department is enabled to anticipate, plan, and effectively execute to mitigate commodities and derivatives compliance risk.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to all levels in the Bancorp.
•Ability to negotiate and collaborate with others, initiate action, adapts to change, make difficult decisions, and accept challenging assignments.
•Able to work independently and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
