2025 FIRMA Board of Directors Nominations are Now Being Accepted

FIRMA is a professional organization like no other and YOU are at its core, our membership.  Where we have been and where we are going are based not only on your input, but also on the hard work and leadership of our Executive Director Hale Mast, Office Manager Amy Caple, numerous committee members, and a group of eleven members who volunteer as our Board of Directors.

FIRMA is active throughout the year in planning for the National Conference, our monthly webinar series, and in producing the FIRMA FORUM, just to name a few areas of focus. The Board of Directors meets throughout the year to support these endeavors and most importantly to provide input and guidance regarding the future direction of FIRMA.

What FIRMA is today is based on the collaboration of Directors, past and present, with dedication and passion for our organization. Where FIRMA will be tomorrow will be determined by the next generation of Directors.

Open Board Positions

The FIRMA Board of Directors would like to deeply thank two of our Directors Deanna Rankin and Danielle Albrecht who have completed their full Board service terms. Directors Holly Bailey and Michael Bridgeman are completing their first elected term in 2025 and may run for re-election. For the year 2025, the FIRMA Board of Directors will be comprised of eleven directors. For the three-year term beginning May 2025, there will be four open Board positions. Nomination Information and Criteria

The election of Directors for the FIRMA Board will occur by electronic vote prior to the 2025 FIRMA Annual Membership Meeting, scheduled to be held in person at the 2025 National Conference in Orlando, FL on April 30, 2025.

 

FIRMA Elections

FIRMA Board positions are filled by a majority vote of members in good standing, in advance of the Annual Membership Meeting. In order to vote, members must have paid their dues by the voting deadline as stated on the ballot. Ballots will be posted to the FIRMA website following the close of nominations; members will be notified by email when online voting is available. Elected members will be announced at the Annual Membership Meeting. Three-year board terms commence the day of the annual meeting through the annual meeting of the third year of their term.

 

Requirements for Candidates

All candidates must:

  • be a member of FIRMA in good standing;
  • be engaged in the fiduciary or risk management industry at the time of their election;
  • have the written consent of their employer for the three-year term;
  • be willing and able to devote time needed to meet the commitments required of Directors; and,
  • be approved by the Board of Directors for inclusion on the ballot.

Note - Board representation is generally limited to one individual per organization.

For the general information of those contemplating board service, this service includes, but is not limited to on an annual basis: two-hour board teleconferences, held monthly; chairing of and service on one or more  board committees; attendance at and assistance with the Annual Training Conference; assistance with live and virtual training events; and attendance at a 2-3 day strategic planning meeting.  Please refer to the FIRMA website for more details. Nominations

Self-nominations, as well as nominations of other member peers, are accepted and encouraged.

Nominees should provide the following information:

  • Candidates must attest that their organization (if any) has agreed to the time and financial commitments to permit them to fulfill their role on the Board.
  • Candidates must submit a brief history of their  professional background, current position, and any certifications;
  • Candidates should also submit a brief statement (generally not to exceed 100 words) about why they should be elected to the Board.

Please note that this information will be published verbatim, if possible. The Nominations Committee reserves the right to abridge or edit the statement for dissemination to the membership.  In addition, each candidate is encouraged to provide a color photo.
